What is the future for Nicksblog.net?

My 66 "nightmist blue" Mustang in the Beaujolais region last winter.

I haven’t posted much on the blog lately… But I’m still here, and I’ve got a few ideas to keep it going and polish it up for the occasion! I’ll try to explain in this post how is the future I imagine for Nicksblog.net.

A future for Nicksblog.net with less Mustang, but still!

Some (many?) of you won’t be happy to read these first lines, but let’s face it. Since I’ve been writing articles for Mustang & Shelby Magazine, I’ve had a little less to say here. By the way, if you’re interested, the cover photo for the latest issue of M&S (on newsstands since mid-October) is taken by me.

I’ll say it right away: the blog won’t be closing for that reason. But I’ve been asking myself a lot of questions about the “editorial line” (if I can say it that way) of nicksblog.net.

I don’t want to stray too far from the content I’ve been offering up to now, but I do want to get back into photography and consolidate a little the “America” section I timidly launched a while back. So the blog will no longer be limited to cars.

A future for Nicksblog.net in photography

I recently got back into photography. It’s been a while, so I need to get back to basics, but it’s relaxing. I’m wondering whether I can share this passion with you on this blog. There are several possibilities, including :

  • sharing photos with what led me to take them and the conditions (technical, meteorological, etc.) in which they were taken ;
  • interviews with photographers who reveal their favorite photos and tell us more about how they were taken;
  • two or three other unfinished tracks…

To kick off the theme (we’re reusing the existing “Photo” section), here’s one of the Mustang photos I took last winter:

A future for Nicksblog.net based on travelogues

A few months (or rather years) ago, I started publishing articles about trips to the USA (2014 and 2019) in the form of “travelogues”. This allowed me to share these stories with people outside the blog (such as members of the Sunset BLD forum), but I hadn’t made them visible so as not to distort the blog. Well, I’ve decided to underline this section too. So you should have seen a new “America” menu with these stories and other articles about the United States.

I’ve got a few ideas to make this section a little more visible, and you should see the result in December… Travel updates are indeed in the pipeline…

Other changes on Nicksblog.net…

I really like the theme currently used for Nicksblog.net… But there are several limitations that bother me. I may change it in the next few weeks. I’ll try to keep some of the visual identity of the current site, but we’ll see.

In short, there’s a lot in pipe, and more time to devote to the blog, BUT :

  • no more “only Mustang” website,
  • I’ll try to publish regularly,
  • I’ll always give priority to quality over quantity.
